Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 amβ2:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Zelda's Original Gourmet Pizza at (916) 432-3871; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, zeldasgourmetpizza.com.

Sacramento is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Sacramento is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

My girlfriend and I just popped in on a whim and could not have been happier. This place feels (and is) like a historic treasure and at the same time a best kept not so secret, secret. The staff, food, and vibe were all wonderful! Definitely coming back. PS. The meatballs are the size of a large softball and delicious.

Not a good experience. Crust is not anywhere close to the same as the original. Tasted almost like crushed up saltine crackers. Staff was worse. Barely even got noticed no matter how many times staff and servers walked by. Took over an hour for a sub par flat dish pizza. The pan was deep, the pizza was not. Been going to Zelda's for about 30 years. Took my son for the first time and that's the impression. They say they refurbished the inside. Nope. Same tables that are busted. No leg room if you're big and tall. Very disappointing.

Feels like you've walked into the 70's... In a good way! Delicious pies, deeper dish, not exactly deep dish. They even have a bar with drinks that are decently priced ... Just a good vibe all around. Would love a dessert menu tho!

"I've never had to do this before" We returned to this restaurant to celebrate my brotherβs birthday after having a great experience here about a month ago. That first visit is the only reason we came backβthe service was attentive, and the deep-dish pizza was hot, fresh, and excellent. This time was a completely different experience. We ordered a large deep-dish pizza for our group of five, and it arrived barely warm, which took away from what should have been the highlight of the meal. The service was slow and inattentive throughout. We had planned to order a few pitchers of beer while waiting, but our server was rarely around, so that never really happened. The most telling moment came at the end. A staff member approached our table and said, βIβve never had to do this before,β before asking us to wrap up and leave because they were busy. If thatβs not something theyβve βhad to do before,β it probably shouldnβt have happened here eitherβespecially to a group in the middle of celebrating a birthday. We understand restaurants get busy, but rushing out paying customers mid-celebration is not how you handle it. What should have been a great night ended on a sour note. Based on this

After going to the community center for a marine performance of Moulin Rouge my girlfriend and I enjoyed an incredible dinner of caeser salad, garlic cheese bread, and deep dish pies and a couple drinks. We couldnβt make up our minds so ordered two small pies and barely made a dent in them because they are SO deliciously filling! The atmosphere was great, service was spectacular. As we were getting ready to leave Beau, the new owner came and introduced himself. I havenβt been in years but the ambiance and friendly atmosphere was very welcoming. As always, I highly recommend Zeldaβs!
